Homeable

Accessibility & Trust

Accessibility is our product. Trust is how we keep it.

Homeable serves people whose housing is tied to their health, safety, and dignity. That means two promises: the accessibility we list is real and verified, and the personal information you share with us is protected.

Our accessibility commitment

We hold ourselves to the standards we ask of every home:

  • This website targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA — full keyboard operation, visible focus, strong contrast, plain language, large touch targets, and respect for reduced-motion settings.
  • Every listing is checked against a standardized accessibility schema anchored to CSA B651 and the barrier-free provisions of the National Building Code, and cross-referenced with RHFAC and SAFERhome certification.
  • If you find any barrier on this site or in a listing, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix it.

What "verified accessible" means

1
Self-reported — the provider completes our standardized accessibility checklist. A clear starting point, shown honestly as self-reported.
2
Photo-verified — key features (entry, doorways, shower) are confirmed with photo evidence reviewed by Homeable.
3
Certified — the home holds RHFAC or SAFERhome certification, with the score shown on the listing.

Privacy & data stewardship

When you share your housing needs with Homeable, here is exactly how we treat that information.

What we collect & why

We collect only what we need to match you to the right home: your contact details, location, budget, timeline, and accessibility needs. We use it to find and notify you about suitable homes — nothing else.

Consent first

We collect your information only with your consent, and we tell you why. If you ask us to refer you to a housing provider, we share your relevant details only with that provider, only with your consent.

We never sell your data

We do not sell your personal information. Any market or demand insights we publish are aggregated and anonymized, with safeguards so no individual can be identified.

Security & your rights

  • Your information is stored securely with access limited to those who need it.
  • You can ask to view, correct, or delete your information, or withdraw consent, at any time.
  • We handle personal information in line with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and applicable provincial legislation).
