Our Story
Built for the Way People Actually Live
Rethinking what accessible housing can look and feel like on Vancouver Island — because dignity, beauty, and independence should never be in conflict.
How We Got Here
Our Story
Homeable began with a simple question: why should accessible housing mean institutional design?
Too often, people who need mobility-friendly homes are left choosing between clinical, retrofitted spaces that feel more like care facilities than homes — or struggling to find anything at all. We built Homeable to challenge that assumption.
Our flagship location at Sitka Landing in Campbell River, BC — at the heart of Vancouver Island’s wild, breathtaking coast — is a purpose-built community designed from the ground up around the belief that accessible housing can be beautiful. That wider doorways and roll-in showers don’t have to come at the expense of warmth, character, or a neighbourhood you’re genuinely proud to call home.
We believe that when housing is designed with care — for people, for place, and for the long term — it lifts everyone. Residents, families, and communities alike.

Our Vision
A home should adapt to your life — not the other way around.
Most homes are built for a snapshot in time — a particular age, ability level, and set of circumstances. Homeable homes are built differently. They’re designed to grow with you: ready for a mobility aid today, a ceiling hoist tomorrow, a care aide suite when the time comes.
We call this adaptable design — and it’s the core of everything we do. Not because we assume you’ll need it, but because we believe you shouldn’t have to move when life changes.
What Sets Us Apart
What Makes Us Different
Design-First Accessibility
We believe style and accessibility aren't in tension — they're a design challenge. Every Homeable home is crafted to feel warm, considered, and contemporary. Mobility-first features are integrated, not bolted on.
Wide doors. Beautiful spaces. No compromise.
Community-Centred Development
Homeable isn't a building — it's a neighbourhood. Our homes sit within a connected community designed around shared green space, walkable surroundings, and proximity to the services that matter most.
A place to belong, not just to live.
Built for the Long Term
Adaptable design means your home evolves with your needs. Structural reinforcement for future grab bars, rough-in for ceiling lifts, and flexible floor plans ensure that what works for you today still works for you in twenty years.
Future-ready. Always.
Working Together
The Partnership Approach
Homeable doesn’t operate in isolation. We believe the most meaningful housing solutions come from collaboration — between developers, care providers, healthcare organizations, and the communities they serve.
We actively work with organizations that share our commitment to accessible, dignified housing. Whether you manage care placements, operate housing programs, or advocate for people with disabilities — there may be a role for your organization within the Homeable network.
We work with organizations like…
- Non-profit housing societies
- Home care & care aide agencies
- Housing operators & developers
- Healthcare organizations
- Municipal & provincial bodies
- Impact investors
Not sure if your organization is a fit? Reach out anyway. We’re always open to new conversations.
